1. About Letters from Sicily
Letters from Sicily is a personal subscription service operated from Sicily, Italy. Each month, a letter and, depending on your chosen tier, additional gifts including recipe cards, postcards, stickers, artisan soap, Modica chocolate, and other seasonal gifts, are prepared by hand and dispatched by post to subscribers worldwide.

2. The Subscription
2.1 What you receive
Your subscription tier determines what arrives each month. Full details of each tier’s contents are set out on our subscription comparison page. Contents are as described at the time of your subscription — we reserve the right to substitute items of equivalent or greater value where a listed item is temporarily unavailable due to seasonal or supply reasons.
2.2 Dispatch
All parcels are dispatched on the first Monday of each month via Poste Italiane’s international service. If you subscribe before the monthly cut-off date, your first dispatch will be that month’s mailing. If you subscribe after the cut-off, your first dispatch will be the following month.
2.3 Recurring billing
Your subscription renews automatically each month on the same date as your original sign-up, until you cancel. You will be charged the price applicable to your chosen tier at the time of each renewal. You will receive a receipt from Stripe, our payment processor, for each charge.
2.4 Price changes
We will give you at least 30 days’ notice of any price increase before it takes effect on your subscription, giving you the opportunity to cancel if you do not wish to continue at the new price.
2.5 Failed payments
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry automatically. If payment cannot be collected, your subscription may be paused or cancelled. We will notify you by email if this occurs.
3. Your Right to Cancel
3.1 Cancelling your subscription
You may cancel your subscription at any time. To cancel, please use the link below or contact us at support @ lettersfromsicily.com
To avoid being charged for the following month, please cancel before the first Monday of that month (our dispatch date). If you cancel after a dispatch has already been sent, that month’s parcel will still be delivered and no refund will be issued for it.
3.2 Your 14-day right of withdrawal (EU and UK subscribers)
If you are based in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 calendar days of the date your first parcel is delivered, without giving any reason and without penalty, in accordance with EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU and applicable national law.
To exercise this right, please notify us clearly in writing within 14 days of receiving your first delivery — by email to support @ lettersfromsicily.com or by using the cancellation form below:
Withdrawal form: I hereby give notice that I wish to withdraw from my subscription to Letters from Sicily. Name: ___ Subscription start date: ___ First delivery received: ___ Email address: ___
Where a right of withdrawal is exercised and a parcel has already been dispatched, we cannot recover that parcel from the postal network. In such cases, we will cancel your subscription immediately, upon receipt of your email, and you will be not be billed for the following month. All parcels are sent out on the 1st Monday of each month.
3.3 Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to perishable goods (including food items such as Modica chocolate and herbs) once dispatched, or to sealed goods opened after delivery where return is not possible for hygiene reasons (including artisan soap). The right of withdrawal applies in full to the letter, recipe cards, stickers, and postcard components of any tier.
4. Refunds
Refunds are handled in accordance with our separate Refund & Returns Policy. In summary:
- Refunds are not offered on parcels already dispatched and delivered as described
- If something arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days with a photograph and we will find a fair solution
- If a parcel does not arrive within the expected delivery window, please contact us and we will investigate
- Refunds for valid withdrawal requests will be processed within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice, using the same payment method used for the original purchase

6. Delivery and Liability
Parcels are dispatched via Poste Italiane’s untracked international service. Once a parcel has been handed to Poste Italiane, we cannot monitor its progress and cannot accept liability for delays caused by the postal service, customs authorities, or circumstances beyond our control.
Estimated delivery times are set out in our Shipping Policy. We cannot guarantee delivery within these windows, particularly for international shipments subject to customs inspection.

7. Subscription Contents and Variations
The seasonal gifts included in Tier 4 (The Grand Tour) vary each month depending on seasonal availability, harvest cycles, and postal weight constraints. We cannot guarantee specific seasonal items in advance. All other tier contents (letter, recipe cards, stickers, postcard, soap, chocolate) are as described on the subscription page, subject to the substitution clause in Section 2.1.
Soap scents and Modica chocolate flavours and producers rotate monthly. No two months are identical — this is intentional and part of the experience.
