We will try and answer as many of your concerns as we can before you decide to purchase anything. If you haven’t found the answer you were looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Why do you have different subscription types?

We offer 4 different options as each one serves a different purpose.

Just the Letter, which is just that. Just a letter that I send to you monthly with nothing extra. This subscription is for those who like meaningful, heartfelt letters without anything extra.

A Taste of Sicily is a letter, a recipe card, a sticker and a small surprise from Sicily, chosen and tucked into your envelope each month. This tier suits those who love to immerse themselves in the Sicilian culture, like to cook and enjoy collecting stickers.

The Collector’s Post is a letter, a photograph turned into a postcard, two recipe cards, three stickers, a journal prompt, a postage stamp, a superstition or Sicilian phrase card, scrapbooking paper, ephemera and a small mystery gift. This subscription suits those who love to cook, love stickers and love journaling or scrapbooking.

The Postscript is a monthly postcard which is sent without an envelope. This is for those who love photographs of faraway places.

Then there are Susan’s Letters from 1907. Not written by me, but by an Edwardian woman. These are real letters that we are releasing one a month, with a complete accompanying page of photos, notes and a crossword puzzle.

Are shipping costs included?

Yes. Worldwide postage is included in every subscription.

How often will I receive a letter?

Your subscription is posted once a month from Sicily. We post on the first Monday of every month, however, many a month we try and get the letters off earlier as we know you are eager to receive them. The cut-off for every month is the 23rd of each month. If you subscribe on, or before the 23rd, you will be included in that month’s post. If you subscribe after the 23rd your first letter will be the following month.

Who writes the letters?

Every letter is personally written by me, Kate, from my home in Sicily.

Are the letters handwritten?

The letters are presented in a font that is in a printed style, and individually finished with a hand-applied wax seal. Each letter is addressed to the individual subscribers personally and signed off by me. Due to scale, it is not possible to handwrite each letter.

Will everyone receive the same letter?

Yes. The monthly letter is the same for all subscribers irrespective of the type of letter subscription. Most of our letters are between 3-4 pages.

Will the gifts change each month?

Yes, everything you receive will be different to what you have received in the past subscriptions. One month it will be a bookmark, a papercraft activity, extra scrapbooking paper, a colouring in activity, etc.

Do I need to have visited Sicily?

No. The letters are written for anyone who loves Sicily, whether you’ve visited or not. Some of our subscribers have Sicilian ancestry, others have visited Italy and fell in love with the country, and others have never been but are interested in the island and would love to hear more about it.

How long does delivery take?

Posting to mainland Italy and Europe, letters reach their destination in 3 weeks and under. Most international deliveries arrive within 3-4 weeks, although customs and local postal services can affect delivery times. Occasionally, it can take up to 6 weeks to reach you, but this is not the norm. We send all our mail untracked.

What if I don’t get my letter within 6 weeks?

If a letter goes astray we pause your subscription for the following month. If it has not arrived within 6 weeks of posting, we resend tracked and restart once we know it has arrived.

Can I cancel or pause my subscription?

Yes. Your subscription renews monthly and you may cancel before your next renewal. If you are ill, going away, or just want to take a break for a while, you may also pause your subscription.

Can I buy it as a gift?

Absolutely. It makes a wonderful gift for lovers of Sicily, travel and traditional letters. Places are released in limited numbers so every subscription receives the same level of care and attention. We have a 3 month, 6 month and 1 year subscription for Just the Letter at a discounted rate.

What makes Letters from Sicily different?

We are the first English-speaking snail mail club in Sicily. We combine personal travel experiences on the island with authentic Sicilian stories and carefully chosen items into one monthly experience.

What makes it truly different

It is lived, not researched. You are not reading a guidebook rewrite or a curated “best of Sicily.” You are reading what actually happened, first-hand.
It is honest Sicily. Beautiful, chaotic, frustrating, generous, funny, sometimes ugly. The island as it is, not as it is marketed.
It arrives as real post. A tangible slow-living ritual, not more screen time. An envelope you open, keep, reread.
It is specific to Western Sicily and everyday life. Small towns, overlooked places, local rhythms, festivals, markets, and the real machinery of daily life.
