Sicily is a beautiful island, but it can also be chaotic and frustrating. I write about the places I visit, the people I meet, local traditions, festivals, food, history and the ordinary moments that reveal what living in Sicily is really like.

I do not plan the letters months ahead because I want them to reflect what is happening here. One month might take you into a village I have discovered. Another may begin with a conversation, a local celebration, or a dish that belongs to that particular season.

This is Sicily written by someone who lives here.
