A little slice of Sicily in your letterbox every month
Come with me beyond the postcard, to the Sicily that carries on after the tourists go home.
Just the Letter subscription is a real letter written in Sicily and sent to your door by good, old-fashioned snail mail.
I write three to four chatty pages about life on the island, where I’ve been, what I’ve seen, and a little bit of personal news of how we have interacted with people during the month, signed, and sealed by me, Kate.

What some of our subscribers say

What will I write to you about?
I write about real life in Sicily.
I write about places I have visited and loved, and places that are often overlooked because they are not on the main tourist routes. They can be just as lovely, and often more charming, because they have not been overrun or dressed up for visitors. These are villages that exist today much as they have for hundreds of years, with everyday life carrying on in its own quiet way.
Beyond the tiny hill towns, there are noisy food markets, ancient cities, forgotten churches, archaeological sites, local festivals, and the places I find simply because I took a different road that day.
I also share what happens to me on a personal level. Living in a rural area means wildfires, dry water pipes, and the practical realities that do not make it into glossy travel writing. But there is also the human side. A neighbour inviting you in for coffee. A meal that turns into an evening. A conversation that reveals what it means to be Sicilian, without anyone trying to explain it.
I do not plan the letters months in advance because I want to write about what is genuinely happening here. One month I might take you with me to a tiny village. Another might begin with a conversation, a local festival, or one of those wonderfully ordinary moments that tells you more about Sicily than a guidebook ever could.
Sometimes Sicily is beautiful. Sometimes it is chaotic. Frequently it is both.
What will arrive?
Each month, you will receive an individually addressed letter signed by me. The envelope is finished with a wax seal and posted directly to you.
There are no stickers, recipe cards, postcards or journaling extras in this subscription. It is deliberately simple: an envelope arrives from Sicily, you open it, make yourself something to drink and spend a little while catching up with life on the island.
If you would prefer a little more Sicily inside your envelope, including recipes, postcards, stickers and collectable paper pieces, explore the other Letters from Sicily subscriptions.
