A monthly postcard subscription | The Postscript

A postcard subscription from Sicily, just for you.

A small piece of island life, dropped into the post once a month.

A beautiful postcard from Sicily, a few handwritten words from me, a stamp, and the pleasure of finding something lovely waiting in your mailbox.

Nothing more. Nothing needed.

Just Sicily, by post. $8.50/month.

What arrives?

A single postcard, once a month.

On the front, a photograph taken by me somewhere in Sicily — perhaps from the farm, perhaps from a village, market, coastline or quiet corner I’ve discovered while travelling around the island. The view will change with the seasons, but it will always be somewhere I’ve actually been and something I’ve actually seen.

On the back, a few words from me, handwritten rather than typed. A small observation, a moment from the day, or simply something I wanted to share with you.

That’s it.

No envelope. No extras. Nothing tucked inside.

Not a letter.

A Postscript.

A monthly postcard subscription of photographs like this one taken by me on the island,
The back template of our postcard subscription plan.

Who is our postcard subscription for?

You know the sort of day. The mail is mostly bills, something from the bank, and a flyer for a mattress sale.

And then, tucked between them, there’s a postcard.

A picture from somewhere far away. A stamp in the corner. Someone else’s handwriting on the back. You turn it over before you’ve even closed the mailbox.

That’s really the whole idea.

Maybe you love receiving real post but don’t want a full letter every month. Maybe you’d like a small connection to Sicily with something that arrives unexpectedly amongst all the ordinary things. Or perhaps you simply miss the days when postcards landed on the doormat because someone, somewhere, thought of you.

Once a month, I’ll send you one from Sicily, sharing a little of where I’ve been, what I’ve seen, or something that caught my eye along the way.

No extras. No envelope. Nothing to find space for.

Just a postcard from Sicily, from me to you with a few lines.

How it works

After your postcard subscription has been bought, what happens next?

One postcard is mailed every first Monday of the month, as regular as clockwork — just like the letters.

The journey to you, however, runs on Sicilian time.

This is real snail mail, sent from an island in the Mediterranean, and international post does not always hurry itself. Your first postcard may take a little longer to arrive, but once they begin making their way to you each month, you should find one appearing in your mailbox at roughly the same time.

If you live in the USA or further afield, please allow 4–6 weeks for your postcard or letter to reach you. Sometimes it will arrive sooner; occasionally, it may take a little longer.

I post everything on schedule here in Sicily, but once it begins its journey, the timing is in the hands of the postal services.

And perhaps that’s part of the charm.

No tracking. No next-day delivery. No notification telling you it’s three stops away.

Just a postcard from Sicily that, one ordinary day, turns up in your mailbox.
