Letters from Sicily FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions
We will try and answer as many of your concerns as we can before you decide to purchase anything. If you haven’t found the answer you were looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
What are the different subscription tiers?
There are four subscription tiers. Tier 1 includes the monthly wax-sealed letter, postcard and sticker. Tier 2 adds recipe cards and extra keepsakes. Tier 3 introduces artisan gifts including Modica chocolate and handmade Sicilian soap. Tier 4 is our most immersive experience, including seasonal Sicilian artisan products (within postal weight limits), with worldwide postage included.
Are shipping costs included?
Yes. Worldwide postage is included in every subscription.
How often will I receive a letter?
Your subscription is posted once a month from Sicily.
Who writes the letters?
Every letter is personally written by me, Kate, from my home in Sicily.
Are the letters handwritten?
The letters are presented in a vintage typewriter style and individually finished with a hand-applied wax seal. Due to scale, it is not possible to handwrite each letter.
Will everyone receive the same letter?
Yes. The monthly letter is the same for all subscribers, while gifts vary by tier.
Will the gifts change each month?
Yes. We vary soaps, chocolate, herbs and seasonal gifts whenever possible. However, this also means that there will be some chocolate you have preferred in the past, and the same with the soap. This is just down to personal preference.
Where do you source the products?
From artisan makers and small producers across Sicily. Many of these have been in families for generations. Have a look at our Tier 3 page which goes into more detail as to where the chocolate will come from.
Do I need to have visited Sicily?
No. The letters are written for anyone who loves Sicily, whether you’ve visited or not.
How long does delivery take?
Most international deliveries arrive within 2–3 weeks, although customs and local postal services can affect delivery times.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Your subscription renews monthly and you may cancel before your next renewal.
Can I buy it as a gift?
Absolutely. It makes a wonderful gift for lovers of Sicily, travel and traditional letters.
Are there allergens?
Please check individual packaging carefully, as artisan products may contain or have traces of allergens.
Why is there a waiting list?
Places are released in limited numbers so every subscription receives the same level of care and attention.
